Community Activists Want Youth Center Closed

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- A community activist group has asked that the Chad Youth Enhancement Center close its doors after a teenager died in its care.

In June, a 17 year old died at the Chad Youth Enhancement Center in Montgomery County after being restrained a day earlier by a staff member. Officials with the school told Montgomery County investigators the teenager became unruly, and something apparently went wrong when they restrained the child. Two other teens were hurt while being restrained.

The toxicology report on how Omega Leach died are still not back. But already, the Urban Resource Center has called for the Youth Center to be shut down.

The group believes the Center is too focused on making money, and should not be trusted with the care of children.
