The Academy at Ivy Ridge still can't issue high school diplomas.
The Academy's accreditation didn't come up at this month's meeting of the New York State Board of Regents. "We're kind of frustrated," said Ivy Ridge spokesman Tom Nichols.
Ivy Ridge, near Ogdensburg, stopped issuing high school diplomas in August, 2005 as part of a settlement with Attorney General Eliot Spitzer. The Academy also agreed to pay $1.65 million in fines and refunds to families of students who had been issued diplomas.
To resume issuing high school diplomas, the Academy was forced to seek state accreditation.
The Board of Regents isn't scheduled to meet again until December.
Nichols said the Board had recently asked the Academy to resubmit its accreditation material in a different format, which the Academy did.
But Nichols said the Board didn't ask for any other changes to the materials, making him optimistic the accreditation will be approved.
